Global Christian Ministries
Thinking globally, ministering locally

God at Work: around the world, around the corner. November 2008

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17

Whether preaching the gospel or inviting the community in to simply use the library, we are committed to doing all that we do in the name of him who makes this place possible. It is quite a challenge when we think about all of our words and deeds…whether they are something we want to attach to the name of the Lord, but there is grace as we continue striving for his shaping of our individual lives and the life of this ministry.

Praises

· We are grateful for successful SAIACS modules in Writing Skills/Use of English led by Mary Ann for our seminary students followed by Devotional Life and Literature led by Rev. Peter Maduka.

· The HIV/AIDS conference led by Mary Ann on October 24-25 was a huge success. We thank God for the moving of his Spirit and for the receptiveness of the participants. They left desiring to make a difference in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Thank you Rev. Felix Anothaenwere for coordinating.

· Mary Ann spoke on HIV/AIDS to a group of young students at St. Jude’s College of which only 10% had previously heard of the disease. We thank God for opening a door while there to speak to another gathering of students in the coming months.

· Emily Capes from Florida made a successful journey to GCM for one week. She is bringing a youth team in April to help build a well and assist at the Motherless Babies Home. We are so grateful for the work she and her youth group are currently doing to raise funds for our well program and for a safe and insightful journey for Emily. Thanks to Rev. Kperechukwu and Victory for being great hosts while Emily and Mary Ann visited in Onitsha, Anambra State.

· We have a new employee, Karibe Miracle, to direct our computer school operations. We are excited about his enthusiasm for the project at hand and can’t wait to see what God does through him in this organization.

Prayers

· We are seeking God’s assistance in the realm of our Cyber cafĂ©. For reasons out of our own hands we have had a decline in business which in turn affects our other ministries. Pray that God would sustain this work.

· Please lift up our seminary, SAIACS, to the Lord in prayer for our current students and their studies here. We hope to see new students being drawn to our school, to be built up in good leadership and theology to further impact the Nigerian Christian community.

· Continue lifting up the work of our HIV/AIDS program that we may be led to the places of ministry that God desires.

· Our Thursday chapel time is now focused on leaving the compound grounds and reaching out to the community. Pray for our Thursdays as we disperse into the community to share the love of God through words and/or actions.

· Thanks for your continued prayers for Rev Fyne for his travels and ministries in the US these several weeks.

· We have great and urgent need for serious prayers for our property. Our landlord insists on immediate repossession of our current rented campus. Please pray for God’s intervention with locating a more suitable accommodation, finances for rent and relocation, guidance, peace of mind, etc…in short, we need a miracle from God.

Partnership

God is blessing the work going on here and in the States to build our ministries at GCM. We are incredibly grateful for all of those who have chosen to partner with us and we are humbled by the way God is moving in those partnerships. If you would like to join in on the good works there are many opportunities!

· Invite your church, youth group, family or other organization to do a fundraiser for our Living Water well program which provides access to clean water for local villages. Create awareness and support by getting involved in this ministry. Check out www.livingwaternigeria.blogspot.com for ideas.

· Our HIV/AIDS program is always in need of financial assistance to help provide materials/handouts to those who attend our conferences.

· We invite medical teams to come and minister to the sick in our community.

· Adjunct Faculty

· A new laptop for our President, Rev. Fyne Nsofor, to use.

SAIACS Student Spotlight

Meet Emmanuel Kelechi, our newest diploma student at SAIACS. Kelechi is currently a Math/Physics teacher at a local secondary school. He decided to pursue his education with us because he believes God is calling him out of science and into the ministry. He has felt a great burden to pursue pastoral ministry and is very eager for God to use him in Nigeria and across the globe!

Thank you all for your continued support.
